There are three hotels outside the walls: Hotel la Pergola, Hotel Alpino and Hotel VillaMoorings. The first is comfortable and clean, has a nice rooftop terrace and is used by Page and Moy coach tours. It is about half a km from the old town. The Alpino is small, simple and very central, on the main square of the "new town" but can be noisy. The Hotel Villa Moorings, in Barga Giardino, a short walk from the old town is a beautifully restored Liberty style (art nouveau) Villa which was built by the Castelvecchi family who made their fortune from restaurants in Largs, Scotland. It has a swimming pool in the grounds. Also in the new town is the B&B Casa Giardino.
Further afield there is the International Centre "Il Ciocco", a vast, sprawling conference centre on the hillside overlooking Barga. It is about 7km from the town and has extensive grounds with villas and chalets. It has a pool.
Also, near il Ciocco is the hotel la Terrazza at Albiano. There are a number of agriturismi (self catering apartments) in the surrounding area.
